I have a BT home broadband.
This was installed sometime ago by BT.
They installed a BT Voyager 220 IAD Router.
They sent me the login name and password by email.
The login name seems to be loginname@btinternet.com
This has no wireless and is limited to one USB Socket and one ethernet RJ45.
My boss has given me brand new Business Broadband BT wireless router.
It is complete the model Number is BT2700HGV firmware 6.1.1.48-enh.tm
and has a key code 528Y-27G4-A222-22BJ-B22v.
I can't seem to get it to work I don't know what the key code is for its not
the wep.  I dont need Fon, fusion, Openzone or voice.
Can you help me with the installation.
Josh

Hi Josh

The BT 2700 router Will work fine with BT home broadband

The BT 2700 with new firmware setup seems rather strange. It has lots of features not found in DSL mainstream routers.
It works like 3 wireless routers in one.

(1)  Wireless openzone allows other users to use your connection for commercial use like a wireless hotspot. New services are using something similar called FON.
(2) Fusion for mobile has been discontinued.
(3) Voice for broadband phone.

Follow the instructions in the quick setup guide
enter 192.168.1.254 in a browser.
Wait if you cannot connect within 2 minutes disable your firewall
if this fails you could do a master router reset by holding a pencil in the tiny reset hole a the back of the router for 10 seconds.
The default system password for 2700HGV hubs installed with BT v6.x firmware since January 2009 is the serial number of the hub.  The serial number can be found on the label attached to the underside of the hub.
If you are still having problems with the password Click on I've forgotten the password and then I've still forgotten the password, use the default WEP code as instructed to reset the password to one of your choice.

The Key code is used by BT to upgrade the firmware of your router
the key
BT Key Code: 528Y - 27G4 - A222 - 22BJ - B22V should work fine.
some other keys are
Manual Key Code: 5225 - 2374 - WG62 - 22AS - BJ7P
AT&T Key Code: 52AN – 2374 – WHE2 – 22AZ – B27S .

Follow the instructions on my tutorial
http://systems-edge.co.uk/bt2700/index.htm
Check the leds on the front panel
Even though you should have a good ADSL connection it may take some time
establish an internet connection keep trying for ten minutes or so.

If you have problems sending email check my link

happy computing
