Install Macromedia Flash 8 on Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala. Using wine

Install Macromedia Flash 8 on Ubuntu 9.10 Kamic Koala

If necessary install the Wine Microsoft Windows Compatibility Layer
from applications Ubuntu Software Centre.
 
Locate the flash 8 installation file.
From applications,  select wine, browse c:/drive,
navigate to your dvd drive
click on flash8-en.exe

The flash program can be launched from wine
/home/tony/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files/Macromedia/Flash 8/Flash.exe

 The installer should create a shortcut to flash
/home/tony/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files/Macromedia/Flash 8/Flash.exe

If the shortcut is not shown on the desktop right click on the mouse, create launcher, navigate to the Flash8.exe
