How to backup and restore  Mozilla thunderbird emails,
            accounts, settings the quick and easy way.

In this demonstration we have installed thunderbird on a windows XP computer
we have imported our accounts and setting from outlook express.

Launch thunderbird
Select tools import
Close thunderbird
In windows taskbar select START,    RUN

Enter %AppData%

OK

Copy thunderbird folder  Ctrl+C and paste this to your usb2 memory stick. Ctrl+V
Close the memory stick

Right click on the memory stick
Select EJECT or use the safely remove hardware.
Usb2 memory stick.

To import thunderbird emails, accounts, settings

After installing thunderbird on our new computer. Close thunderbird
Ion this occasion we are using windows 7

Click on START in the taskbar
In the bottom search /run panel enter  %AppData%


Delete the thunderbird folder on your new installation
Copy thunderbird folder from your memory stick (Ctrl+C) and paste the thunderbird folder onto your new installation. (Ctrl+V)

Right click on the memory stick
Select EJECT or use the safely remove hardware.
Usb2 memory stick.
