I have recently made a lot of changes to my forum as I wanted to bring this right to the top of the search engine my site is
http://www.pc-forum.co.uk It was impossible to find in the search engine on Google with 110,000,000 million results for pc-forum and pc forum.
I first started updating my site. After testing in Google found my site on page three. I wanted to exceed this so I changed my meta tags description and title.
Always make sure you have good meta tags you can check these with.
http://www.submitexpress.com/analyzer/ look at how relevant to the site your meta tags are. Try and get it to around 85% on everything I advise to put in a lot of keywords.
That is my advice to obtain top level search results in Google, bing, yahoo and other search engines.
Google takes a few days to realize you have changed your Meta tags though so don't expect it will be straight away it normally takes a few weeks
