'Under development creating your own apache webserver
http://g6xfu.myftp.org.
My 11 year old Grandson asked the question how do I make my own internet web server?.
Good question
The bigest problem is not having a static IP address.
He downloaded Apache 2.2 for windows. With help from the tutorials on youtube.
He managed to get Apache working as a local host.
His broadband cable supplier Virgin Media supply a 2meg modem with a ethernet output using an rg45 output port.
He has recently connected a 4 port belkin wireless router.
The problem was setting up the ports to work over the internet.
At first he tried setting up with 192.168,2,nn
After a bit of discussion 192.168 is the local host and suggested looking in google what is my ip address
and experimenting with this setting up port forwarding on the router.
I had an email from my Grandson I have my website working and asked me to enter the ip address in my browser.
Yes it was working.
We worked together trying to link a domain name to work with this.
After about an hour or two we had an account with noip.com
and a free domain name.
My grandson setup a similar config on my spare computer.
The server has been on test for 1 month without a hitch. with a temporary FREE NOIP domain name

'Server Room diy by Eric Geir' http://www.serverwatch.com/tutorials/article.php/3781141We need to investigate adding a control panel. cpanel is brilliant but too expensive for experimental use.
A way to remotely ftp the site. Adding msql and php.
And later moving away from windows to a linux platform perhaps my favourite mandriva 2008.
The next topic to be added the systems-edge.co.uk web site
is setting up your own apache server 2.2
In the mean time three very good articles worth reading the first article.
