« on: August 26, 2010, 12:55:23 PM »
When considering creating a web site the first step is take some time thinking about your domain name keep it short.  A unique or unusual word will be picked up at the top of search engines.
Pick one of the top domain registrars
http://www.123-reg.co.uk/
is very good with prices from £2.99 per year and has an easy user control panel
I find 123-reg.co.uk very easy to use.

1and1.co.uk similar price £2.99 per year.

You don’t need to pay for a host for simple a simple site
http://www.webs.com/
http://www.moonfruit.com/

If you have a paid hosting all you need to do is find the dns ip from the hosting company like http://www.dream-hosting.co.uk/ costing £9.99 per year.
dream-hosting     Name servers:
         ns1.enixns.com
         ns2.enixns.com
         ns3.enixns.com
         ns4.enixns.com

Enter the dns records minimum two most have 4. The wait a day or two for the new record to be propagated.

For the free hosting accounts change the A records
Modify your Domain DNS to point to Moonfruit
First, you need to login to your Domain Control Panel, this gives you access to the DNS Manager interface. Then, delete the following unwanted records:
1) @ A 66.98.136.44
2) www A 66.98.136.44
Great! Now add these two new DNS A records:
1)   @ A 146.101.249.107
2) www A 146.101.249.107

If you already have a web host using cpanel
You can redirect your new domain to one of your own websites.
Perhaps you are using noip http://www.no-ip.com/
With xampp http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html
You may not want a great long domain name you just got to redirect  enter the names in cpanel.
